Susan, originally from England, and her husband Arthur Sager live in Pleasantville, Nova Scotia, Canada. While travelling with her family in England, Susan insisted on making a detour to France to visit the village that bears her name, the village of her ancestors.
Patrick Lequette et Francis Meyer du Centre Culturel « Gilbert de Venables » ont reçu le 12 juin 2024, la visite impromptue de Monsieur et Madame Geoff PAGE. Ils habitent la ville de Middlewich dans le Cheshire avec qui le village de Venables entretient des relations culturelles. Geoff est Président de l’Association Royal British Legion[1].
On 12 June 2024, Patrick Lequette and Francis Meyer from the Gilbert de Venables Cultural Centre received an impromptu visit from Mr and Mrs Geoff Page. They live in Middlewich, Cheshire, with which the village of Venables has cultural ties. Geoff is President of the Royal British Legion Association.

La Convention des Familles Venables 2023 a marqué le grand retour de cet événement international, attendu depuis 2018 et repoussé par la pandémie. Pendant quatre jours, le village a accueilli les familles venues du monde entier autour de rencontres, ateliers, visites patrimoniales, expositions et soirées festives. L’émotion a été au cœur de cette 8ᵉ édition, rythmée par les discours officiels, les dons historiques, les activités intergénérationnelles et la chaleur de l’accueil venablois.
The 2023 Venables Family Convention marked the grand return of this international event, eagerly awaited since 2018 and postponed due to the pandemic. For four days, the village welcomed families from around the world for meetings, workshops, heritage tours, exhibitions and festive evenings. Emotion was at the heart of this 8th edition, punctuated by official speeches, historic donations, intergenerational activities and the warm welcome of the Venables community.
Les échanges entre Middlewich et Venables ont commencé par un échange scolaire dans les années 1990, créant des liens durables entre familles, enseignants et élèves. Au fil des années, voyages, réceptions officielles et festivals normands ont renforcé cette relation autour de leur histoire commune liée à Gilbert de Venables. En 2011, une Charte d’Amitié a officialisé ce rapprochement, poursuivi lors des Conventions mondiales des Familles Venables.
The exchanges between Middlewich and Venables began with a school exchange in the 1990s, creating lasting bonds between families, teachers and pupils. Over the years, trips, official receptions and Norman festivals have strengthened this relationship based on their shared history linked to Gilbert de Venables. In 2011, a Friendship Charter formalised this rapprochement, which was continued during the Venables World Family Conventions.
